Symantec Network Engineer 2 in Draper, Utah
Deploy customer facing, production network equipment across a global infrastructure consisting of hundreds of network devices in more than 40 locations
Continually perform maintenance tasks (upgrades, patches, validation) and contribute to maintaining our SLA of 99.999% uptime
Identify, diagnose and resolve highly complex network issues
Configure and maintain network monitoring tools
Provide support to cross functional teams (DevOps, QA, Engineering)
Act as Tier 3 support for internal and external customers
Create and maintain technical documentation regarding policies, procedures
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
Requirements and skills
2 to 5 years in a Network Engineering role, with 1 to 2 years in a large enterprise or service provider environment
Significant experience and understanding of LAN/WAN concepts and protocols
Significant hands-on experience with routers, switches, load-balancers and applicable security devices
Experience with protocols such as MPLS, BGP, OSPF, HSRP/VRRP, STP
Knowledge of security technologies such as IKE, ESP, SSL, etc
Strong knowledge TCP/IP and the OSI reference model
Experience with network services such as DNS, DHCP, AAA, 802.1X
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong troubleshooting / analysis skills
BS in Computer Science / Information Technology, or the equivalent work experience
Experience with Juniper, Radware, F5 a huge plus
Industry standard certifications (CCNS/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS)
Experience with Radius and RSA authentication
Experience with scripting languages such as Perl
Experience with IaaS
Experience with monitoring systems such as Nagios, SolarWinds, Zenoss, SevOne, Graphite, etc.
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Xen etc.)
Basic Linux CLI experience
Experience running services in elastic cloud environments such as Amazon and Azure.
