OSF Healthcare HIMS Coordinator/Abstractor in United States
The individual will review patient charts to locate items identified for pre-load into the AEMR. They will enter discrete data and scan items into the AEMR as defined in the pre-load process - accuracy is required. Additionally, they will be responsible for management of patient information in the ambulatory electronic medical record which includes entering discrete data, document scanning, and the release of information. Strict confidentiality must be maintained. The individual will perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficiency of the project.
Knowledge of Medical and Surgical Terminology.
3-5 years computer experience.
Typing skills required - 60 wpm
Ability to proof data for accuracy.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
Ability to meet project deadlines.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work well in a team environment.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility in responding to workplace and environment changes.
Good organizational skills in coordinating services with co-workers.
Working knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding.
1 year healthcare experience.
Data entry experience preferred – accuracy a must
